About the Neighborhood Association

Who We Are

We are a small but diverse and eclectic community with a mix of long-time residents, up-and-coming and well-established professionals, young families, artists, teachers, and entrepreneurs. We are centrally located, just minutes from downtown Nashville, Vanderbilt University, within walking distance of the magnificent Parthenon at Centennial Park and the Centennial Sportsplex. Our neighborhood is home to the Nashville Ballet School of Dance, the Nashville Opera, and Climb Nashville, the city's best indoor climbing gym. A short stroll or bike ride takes you to Sylvan Park, with its funky mix of shops and eateries, The Produce Place where you can find the freshest locally grown fruit and vegetables in town, McCabe Park with its golf course, and the Richland Creek Greenway for walking and cycling. Just a few blocks down Charlotte Ave you will find the Darkhorse Theatre, the home of some of Nashville's best local theatre and dance.

Our housing stock is as diverse as our residents — we have everything from smaller cottages to matchbox houses, whose modest exteriors may disguise the space within and the decks with awesome views, to modern townhomes and spectacular California-style modernist glass houses in the Nevada heights section, which enjoy the best views of downtown Nashville in the whole city. We are a neighborhood of hills, and other parts of our neighborhood offer other glorious views including the wooded hills of West Meade and the shimmering city lights of north Nashville.

Initiatives include Neighborhood Clean-Up Days, Community Garden Workdays, and the Neighborhood Watch program.
